PortlandFoodieTruck of the Year is an award program that celebrates the best food and beverage trucks in the Portland metropolitan area. The award process and nominees are as follows:
Nominees for PortlandFoodieTruck of the Year are truck owners or operators who have been driving their trucks around town serving delicious food from their trucks to customers.
The award goes to a truck that has made the most progress over the past year, displaying significant growth in popularity and reach, as well as demonstrating innovative or exciting food and beverage concepts.
The criteria for judging a truck include but are not limited to:
– Productivity
– Chef/Restaurant Exposure
– Customer Satisfaction
– Community involvement
– Street cred
What is the award process and who is eligible for the award?
Subsection 1.2 The Award process and who is eligible for the award are as follows:
1) Nominees must own or operate a truck that has been driving around town serving delicious food from their truck to customers since at least December 1st of each year (the inaugural year of PortlandFoodieTruck of the Year). 2) The Truck Owner/Operator must be registered with the Oregon Health Authority (OHA), which verifies ownership of property on which their restaurant or mobile catering service operates. 3) All nominees must agree to participate in a taste test drive, where one tasting session will be held by OHA at one participating location within 30 days after nominations are received. 4) The final judging process will be conducted by a panel of experienced culinary judges who will consist of industry veterans including chefs, restaurateurs, beer experts, etcetera. 5) The winners will be announced during OHA’s Annual Awards Banquet on Thursday, May 25th in downtown Portland. 6) Scholarship money will be awarded to two finalists who have met all requirements for eligibility but have not yet traveled to compete in our annual awards banquetexternal link.
